Home Sweet Home!

Hello readers of my blog!

I have officially landed back in Malaysia, safe and sound. Did you all miss me? I bet you don't, you just miss my updates, don't you? Incase you're wondering, terrorists did not hijack my plane, i didn't get killed or kidnapped, i didn't get into any accidents, i did not experience any technical errors, nor did i get hit by any Tokyo drifters. The last one was just for laughs.

Anyways today is Christmas Eves, so how're you readers doing? Last minute christmas shopping? Thinking of whether you're on Santa's 'Naughty or Nice' list? Whatever it is it must be exciting right? Santa's little irritating monkey-liked elf is here to give seven special people on it's list a souvenir from Japan.

If you're lucky you'll get it, if you're not than i'm sorry. I hardly got anything for myself, cause i was short on cash. A hundred yen transferred to Malaysia currency is three ringgit plus. Basically everything in Japan was more than a hundred yen. Yeap, everything, even key chains! So i'm really sorry if I didn't get you anything, it was expensive and i really didn't have enough cash. Perhaps, i'll make it up to you and give some homemade cards.

Anyways i'll blog about my first vacation trip some time when i'm not lazy. This update was meaningless as you know it so i thought i'd put up my Talent Time video courtesy of Zue Yi for recording it for me.

Incase the player above doesn't work, here's a link.

Please don't take this video seriously. I didn't have the mood to sing as something terrible happened on that day. I wasn't too keen on singing and i wanted to quit but the show must go on and some people told me not to quit and i don't want to disappoint them so, if you expected me to actually win, nope i didn't and i'm sorry.

Yours Sincerely,
>Irritating Monkey<

Japan, here i come!

Hello fellow readers of my blog,

Don't expect much from this post, i just wanted to inform you that i won't be blogging for a week as i'm going on a vacation to Japan. Yeap, my first vacation trip in my whole fourteen years of living. I'll be back on Christmas eves, but if I don't blog then Merry Christmas to all of you and may it be a jolly one.

Don't forget to miss me!

One more for the people! Don't miss me too much. *winks*

Incase someone hijacks my plane, some technical problems occur, or my plane crashes. Please build a tombstone and in engrave the words:

In memories of
Steffi Lim
the
Irritating Monkey

*Someone insert some words that were meant to describe me*

I'll be the happiest person who died happily. Thank you very much, but hopefully none of the above mentioned will occur. You people don't want me to die THAT young, right? Ahaha, anyways, it's your choice whether you want to pray that my plane crashes or not. Once again Merry Christmas!

I went to Sunway Pyramid on Wednesday and i was supposed to blog about it, but i think these two blogs should explain much. So i'm not going to blog.

International Woman Wellness & Lifestyle 2006 convention

Hello everyone, i'm sure everyone knew that i was working at the International Woman Wellness & Lifestyle 2006 convention in PWTC, selling breast cancer survival guide books for RM20.

So the day before I was supposed to work I was think of what I should say, seeing I don't want to say anything wrong by accident.

| Me | Person | My Action | Person's Action |

At first I was thinking of going for a sarcasm speech:

"Hey you!"
*person stops*
"?"
*runs over to the person*
"Would you like to buy this breast cancer book?"
*shows book*
"Next time when you get breast cancer, it may come in handy."
*winks*
"Erm, no thank you."
"Okay, don't say I didn't warn you."
*rolls eyes*

Then I asked around for opinions on this. Fiona said it might just work if that person can take sarcasm, Q Penn said it was like cursing them and they'd probably run away. Someone else, but i couldn't remember (i'm sorry, please don't kill me!) said that i'd get a tight slap, or maybe two. So I decided to go for a begging speech:

"Excuse me, sir/mam.."
*falls on floor*
"Erm, yes can i help you?"
*shows book*
"I haven't eaten in two weeks."
*person stares at me*
"Oh my..."
"Please buy this book for RM20!"
*start shivering*

But most of them said that everyone would probably run away from me or either ignore me. So I decided to go for a forcing speech:

"Oi, you better buy this!"
*shows the book infront of person's face*
"Err... no.. t-th..."
"Woi! I say buy it! It's only RM20! All for donation"
*runs away*

Yeap, i guess that would just scare people away. So i stopped thinking and decided to do it impromptu. You know? Improvise everything and all. I think it worked out and besides i was the one who earned the most commission.

The Wild Orchid: front cover.

So the book is titled as The Wild Orchid because its the rarest and strongest among them all. The book was written by the author who is my mom's friend, and she's a single mother. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2005. She underwent kimiotheraphy and was cured from breast cancer in February 2006. So now that she's cured, she wish to help and share her experiences with others in need. Give it up for the author, Kuey Lan.

Monkey and Kuey Lan the author who was diagnosed with and cured of breast cancer.

So, there were five volunteers for our booth to sell the books. Me, Lim Zheng ;my brother, Cassandra ;author's daughter, Natalie ;Cassandra's friend and Kuey Lan herself. We were divided to two teams, team one and two.

Team One: Steffi & Lim Zheng
Team Two: Natalie & Cassandra

So the teams have to share half their commission within themselves. We get fifty cents per book sold by a team. So if we sold ten books we got five ringgit, if shared half it's two ringgit and fifty cents per person in a team.
But, the rates will increase after selling ten books, one book was one ringgit. After twenty books,  one book was two ringgit and so on.

Clockwise: Cassandra, Natalie, Monkey and my brother, Lim Zheng.

So first off, me and my brother were leading cause we sold twenty-four books and two other books called Sentuhan Kasih, its a breast feeding book by Dr. Nora and it costs forty ringgit so we got paid fifty cent each for that book. That means all together we got twenty-two ringgit. So each of us had eleven ringgit.

Co-workers unite!

|20% | 60% | 20%| I'm a money making idiot.

Cassandra and Natalie apparently sold ten books on the second day, and ten books on the third day. They made an offer with me and that is the total commission between me and them was I got sixty percent, Natalie got twenty percent and Cassandra got twenty percent. Unfortunately, they only made the offer with me on the third day, so they sold ten books. I got six ringgit, whereas both of them got two ringgit each for the third day.

Our table in the booth. How is the arrangement of the books, signs and the orchids?

Looks like all together I profitted the most.

Team A = RM6 (Second Day)
Team A = RM16  (Third Day)
Team B = RM10 (Third Day)

Steffi = RM17
Lim Zheng = RM11
Cassandra = RM2
Natalie = RM2

Cassandra & Natalie must've gotten more, cause I forgotten how many they sold on the first and second day. Me and my brother didn't work on the first day cause we had something important going on.

Sentuhan Kasih, the book written by Dr. Nora. The book that my brother manage to sell two.

At first we weren't getting anywhere much. So i decided to start promoting and doing some weird advertisement which will attract everyone. I kept thinking and looked around our booth to see what we got.

Apparently all we actually have is pink colour paper, pink books, a big pink sign, orchids, and of course the employees. So i kept thinking and finally i got a brilliant yet stupid yet silly yet retarded yet effective idea. Sorry, but this is a moment for me to brag okay? Ahaha, so I asked Natalie to write a sign which mentions our booth number which is one hundred and forty seven.

At the back of me. I hope you're happy Fiona! You cursed me! I have to wear a pink sign.

As soon as she finished writing and decorating the sign, I took some double sided tape and stick the sign on my back. Then I climbed on the chair and took the giant poster stuck on the wall behind us. Unfortunately this giant poster ain't going to stick on me so I had to carry it everywhere eh?

At the front of me. Well it seems that breast cancer their respective colour is pink. So tough luck for me.

Imagined I went around walking like that. Some people didn't get to catch what was on the front. I knew they wouldn't look anymore, so I took my phone and went to the audio to play a clip for me. Guess what clip it was? It was a rooster. So everytime when someone walked passed me they'd hear a rooster cocking and they'd look behind to see the sign stuck behind my back.

What is this?! Am I in prison or something?! Why am I taking shots like this?! Mugshots, to be specific.

Well, it actually worked. Everyone went to the booth, they bought books and Natalie, Lim Zheng and Cassandra took turns walking atleast a meter or two from me and went around asking people whether they were interested in buying the books.

Just so you know every book sold, the money goes to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association plus the books are donated to breast cancer patients. Kuey Lan also does counselling and personal visits to cheer the breast cancer patients up.

Booth 147, The Wild Orchid.

So the convention was from the eighth to the tenth of December but me and my brother only worked on the ninth and the tenth. Before I forget, lunch and ice-cream were provided. We practically had loads of fun working from eleven to five. Walking around, advertising, selling books, eating, drinking, interacting, communicating and much more.

The giant poster that was stuck on the wall behind us.

This has been an enjoyable experience for me. Working in a convention center, getting paid, not doing so much work yet getting commission for it. I just seems like my chinese astrology or zodiac sign's traits.

"The Monkey likes to feel that they're the ones in charge, though the Monkey doesn't like to put in a lot of hard work if it's avoidable (this Sign wants to have fun!)."
--Taken from Chinese.Astrology.com

Why waste this opportunity to camwhore?

Looks like we spend most of the time fulling around than working right? Everytime my brother passed me while i was walking around with the posters, he'd come to me and tell me that it's break time. I kept on going and he comes to me and tell me again. After two hours later, he'd come to me and tell me it's break time again. When I reached back at the booth, i asked him a question.

SL: Why is it always break time?
LZ: I dunno, no break not fun.
SL: It seems to me like every five minutes is our break time.
C: That's exactly the point.
N: We wouldn't be here if there weren't any breaks.
KL: Taking breaks is okay to regain your energy.
SL: Whoa, so it's four versus one now eh?
*i do that eye brow thingy that fiona knows /brow1*
LZ, C, N, KL: Yeap!
*everyone laughs*

Look! I got that Exhibitor pass thingy. The printed it as Stefi so I corrected it. Steffi the advertiser.

At the end of the day we went out to have dinner together at Sushi King. We took Subang Parade's outlet as they were supposed to send us back home. It was fun and all, i can't wait for the next time we get to work again. This is a fun and enjoyable moment which i feel would be wasted if i didn't go.

The employees of booth 147.
From left to right: Kuey Lan, Steffi, Lim Zheng, Cassandra and Natalie.

Oh guess what? My brother got the best salesmen award in our booth and he's the younges exhibitor cause he's only nine years old. I got the best advertiser and mastermind award in our booth. Cassandra and Natalie got the accounting part wrong so I don't know what they get actually. Best explainers? clumsy accountants? I don't really know what to say so I won't say anything.

The back cover of the book. If you look nicely you can spot my picture there! All the more reason to buy this book right?

Well i've got nothing more to say except that the I'll post the rest of the pictures I took here. I'm sorry but all the pictures I got were in our booth only, cause when you're doing a job, you lose focus on taking pictures.

Look at my new BMW! I bet you're all jealous, sadly only one passenger seat.

The inside of the BMW, beautiful and it's blue.

"Anyone going to Subang?"
PWTC carpark entrance, while the others were doing some checking, never miss the opportunity to camwhore?

Oh by the way, if you'd like to buy this book please leave a tag at my tagboard or contact me on MSN Messenger, irritating_monkey@hotmail.com. Remember it's RM20 and we'll use the money to reprint books and donate it to more hospitals but most of the time it goes to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association. Imagine you can help all those breast cancer patients in need.

Yours Sincerely,
>Irritating Monkey<

Went to Pyramid with three Egyptians.

Hello everyone! Today i went to Pyramid with three Egyptians who goes by Nikole, Su Jin and Q Penn (a.k.a. my second wife). I reached there kinda late, so they bought the tickets already.

So we were practically walking around looking at clothes, but I wasn't paying attention. Then we went to eat cause I was hungry and we decided on Pizza Hut. We kinda took a set and an extra pitcher of Pepsi.

1 Regular pan of Hawaiian Chicken pizza
2 Glass of Pepsi
2 Soup of the Day
1 Pitcher of Pepsi

That was our order and it was RM39.90 which was divided between four of us. So we had to share the soup. Su Jin and Nikole shared, whereas I shared with my wife. After lunch we went to the arcade, and played air hockey, daytona and basketball. When we got bored of wasting our money, we went shopping again. Wasted all our time shopping till our movie started. It started at two thirty and ended at five thirty.

Can you guessed what movie we watched? It's all about poker and action, it's Casino Royale. It's my first time watching a James Bond movie, i know i'm outdated so shoot me. Well the starting was really funny cause there was this guy who James Bond was chasing and the two of them kept jumping around like spiderman or something.

I don't get why alot of people hated the movie, they said that James wasn't hot enough or some stupid excuse. I thought it was great with the humour and action, not the really long kissing scenes though. After that one by one they left and i was alone. I went back at seven, imagine an hour doing nothing in pyramid. Really boring.

Yours Sincerely,
>Irritating Monkey<

PS, i want another musical tie!
